Her mother baked cakes for over forty years and Nadine began following in her footsteps when she was only eight years old. In 1995 Nadine founded Cakes by Nadine Inc. at the corner of Sprague and Broadview Roads, and in 2005 moved her business to its present 3,000 square foot Broadview Heights location. We met with Nadine recently, and listened as she provided this overview of Cakes by Nadine's services and offerings;</p> <blockquote><p align="justify"><i>Cakes by Nadine Inc. is a one-stop bridal shop featuring wedding cakes, wedding cake ornaments, bridal accessories, invitations, balloons, chocolate fountain rentals, edible favors, and pastry and cookie trays. We carry cake and candy supplies, and bake custom cakes and cupcakes for bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays, anniversaries, graduation celebrations, holiday, retirement parties, and first communions. I also have a 2,000 square foot location in Maple Heights that specializes in cake and candy supplies in addition to cake and candy making classes.</i></p> <p align="justify"><i>All of our cakes are made with the highest quality ingredients and feature homemade buttercream icing. Everything is made from scratch daily and is always very fresh. We offer personal consultations and every Saturday host a cake testing from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.</i></p> <p align="justify"><i>Two of our most popular items are cupcakes and edible favors. We bake everything from regular cupcakes decorated with a little swirl, flower, and sprinkle to elaborate cupcakes and cupcake bouquets. Our edible favors include wedding cake-shaped cookies that can double as place cards. Most people no longer keep traditional favors, but with an edible favor you can eat it, keep it, or give it to a friend or family member.</i></p> <p align="justify"><i>We offer chocolate fountain rentals for all types of occasions. Brides receive special pricing on a chocolate fountain with food plus an attendant for 2½ hours of chocolate fun. For other occasions we offer a large chocolate fountain which serves 200 guests, a medium fountain for 100 guests, and a small chocolate fountain which will serve between 25 and 30 guests.</i></p> <p align="justify"><i>We limit the number of wedding cakes we prepare so each bride is assured of getting our very best quality. We deliver all of our wedding cakes and design the cake table at no additional cost. We offer a cake cutting service for our brides that includes one of our attendants who will cut the cake, box it, wrap it, and put it on plates. We also box the top cake for the bride's first year anniversary.
